TTM Review Preview

Holy crap y’all… college visits!

It Spring Break in our county and that meant it was a great time to do some college visits. I can’t believe that my kid is already at that age. They did a junior day, a college fair and then we visited two schools this weekend.

We visited one school that’s based in a city. That was really different for me. I went to a school that had more of a defined campus. It was also smaller. It was just a totally different feel to see something as big and as urban as that school was. It was a great tour and the specialized tour for what they are interested was pretty good. The other tour we did was a specialized one at my alma mater. It was really nice to be at my old stomping grounds and for me, it kind of reminded me why I went there.

But things are so different than they were different almost 30 years ago when I was looking at schools. Obviously the way we get information and how much information is out there is different, but the whole process is different too. It can be very overwhelming and thinking back, I don’t know how I made the choice I did at the time.

Stay safe and healthy out there!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

No themes this week, but the non-baseball quotient was very high. I got three football and three basketball in this week. A couple weeks ago I had gotten a bunch of current baseball players posted and I had Gano, Mariota and Nance on my list to get them out soon. I think that takes care of any current player I had in my backlog.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: The Mayne event…
  • Tuesday: The most Bad News Bears of all card subjects…
  • Tuesday: Tibbs your wait staff…
  • Wednesday: Go Tellmann on the mountain…
  • Thursday: Blades of steel…
  • Friday: Schooler of fish…
  • Saturday: I Szott a man…
  • Sunday: Mielke the cows…

I think I have a couple choices of themes this week… I’m going with Orioles though in a #charmcity #twofortuesday. I’m pretty much back to trying to knock out the oldest things in the backlog.

Other Notes

The last two weeks have been a bit tough in keeping up with things. At the end of each week I was on travel so then I’m kind of catching up with everything in the mailbox on a Sunday. Don’t get me wrong, when that’s a lot it’s nice to have a lot to do. But it gets to be a lot to do all at once.

This week I got 21 returns back. That’s a really good haul based on what I’ve been sending out lately. I would love for this to be consistently between say 18-25 returns a week for a while. I didn’t get any failures but I did get a couple stragglers at the beginning of the week. Mike Loynd was out for 432 days and Roger Salkeld was out for 296 days.

The new Recent TTM Success is updated.

Have a great week!
