Aw yeah! One of my favorite times of the year and definitely my favorite holiday!
Thanksgiving is the best with what I think are the positives of other holidays and less of the negatives. The pressure and expectations of gifts and things like that aren’t there. It’s all about the food in our family and it’s food that I enjoy so much.
I know a lot of people complain about family or have issues with certain members of their family, but I don’t really have that. At least, if I do, none of them makes a big deal of anything at the table or anything like that. No crazy political talk or anything like that.
I will miss my uncle this year. My aunt and uncle moved up to New York and he was a really great cook and liked to do some fun semi-gourmet stuff for Thanksgiving. Definitely going to miss them (and the food). But they are doing well up there and I’ll be with some other family anyway.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend! Happy Thanksgiving!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Ken Anderson
- Tuesday: Mark Kelso, Pete Metzelaars
- Wednesday: Joe Nash
- Thursday: Steve Watson
- Friday: Pat Tilley
- Saturday: Randal Hill, RIP Rob Belloir
- Sunday: Donnell Woolford
The week was almost all football themed, more on that in a minute. But it ended up that there were two Bills on the list within the next posts so the #twofortuesday had a Buffalo vibe. That included a card with snow on it which seemed fitting.
As I said, it was almost all football themed. Unfortunately I found out that Rob Belloir passed away on November 13th. I had some cards of his in my backlog. RIP Rob.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: What about Bob?
- Tuesday: Tom Tom drum…
- Tuesday: Get Buzzed…
- Wednesday: The Breuer Crew…
- Thursday: Valentine’s Day…
- Friday: Phil me up, buttercup…
- Saturday: Down Pat…
- Sunday: A Lalor of love…
No themes this week. It just happened that the next cards up in the backlog were pretty random. It’s almost all baseball aside from two posts.
Other Notes
As I said last week, the pendulum of returns keeps swinging. This week I had eleven returns… JUST ON MONDAY! It was supposed to be twelve which I think would have been a record for me, but one was in Informed Delivery and came late. But I had twenty successes for the week and two failures. But here’s the last several weeks going newest to oldest (just in successful returns)… 20, 8, 14, 17, 7, 8, 15, 10. So it’s not completely one good week one bad week, but you can see how it swings.
I got back stragglers from Kurt Knudson (682 days) and John Salley (247 days). All others were mostly very recent. The failures I got were from Pete Chilcutt, who I think I just messed up seeing a new address for, and then for Tom Walker. Unfortunately Tom passed away at the end of October and I sent him something just shortly before that. RIP Mr. Walker.

Have a great week!
