The Story of the Autograph
Reggie Cleveland is a former right-handed starting and relief pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1969 to 1981 with the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, and Milwuakee Brewers.
Cleveland is a native of Canada having been born in Saskatchewan and raised in Alberta. The Cardinals signed him in 1969 after a one-game trial. He was in the majors for good by the end of the following season. He played his first five seasons with the Cardinals through 1973. After the 1973 season he was traded with Terry Hughes and Diego Segui to the the Boston Red Sox for John Curtis, Mike Garman and Lynn McGlothen.
He was part of the Red Sox 1975 AL Pennant winning squad. With Boston for four and a half seasons, he won double-digit games every year and had winning record in his last three full seasons there. His contract was purchased by the Rangers from the Red Sox and they traded him after the following season to the Brewers for Ed Farmer, Gary Holle, and cash. By that time he had moved to a bullpen role.
The Score on Reggie Cleveland – 7.0
Reggie has a pretty great signature. These came out really good and I got him in almost all of the jerseys he wore in his career. I’m not sure if there is a card of him in a Rangers uniform because he was only with them for a short time. I think my favorites of this bunch are the Brewers cards because the blue goes well with the uniform. I especially like the 1981 Topps card.
Thanks Mr. Cleveland! I’m giving this return a 7.
