The Story of the Autograph
Pete Coachman is a former infielder in the major leagues. He played during the 1990 season with the California Angels.
Coachman is a native of Alabama. He went to the University of Alabama where he was drafted in the 11th round by the Angels in the 1984 MLB Draft. After six years in the minors he made his major league debut on August 18, 1990.
He only made it into 16 games in the 1990 season. Most of those were played at third base. He bit .311 with three doubles and five RBI in almost 50 plate appearances. He would spend two more years in the minor leagues but never made it back to the majors again.
The Score on Pete Coachman – 7.0
I love getting cards like this signed. Pete didn’t have much of a major league career, but he got a major league baseball card out of it and that’s something. It’s these quirkly little cards that I enjoy because it really fills out the story of the set. They aren’t all All-Stars or even journeymen.
Thanks Mr. Coachman! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
