The Story of the Autograph
Mike Miller is a former small forward and shooting guard in the NBA. He played from 2000 to 2017 with the Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies (twice), Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Denver Nuggets.
Miller is a native of South Dakota. He went on to play at the University of Florida where he helped them make the 2000 NCAA Championship game, unfortunately losing to Michigan State. He left school early and was drafted with the fifth overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft. He was the only rookie to appear in all 82 games and in averaging 11.9 points per game and shooting over 40% from three, won the Rookie of the Year award.
The Magic traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2003 and he would continue to his great three-point shooting while there. He spent six years in Memphis (and one more in another later stint) and in the 2005-2006 season he won the Sixth Man of the Year Award. He averaged 30 minutes a game and scored 13.7 points per game. Eventually two trades would take him to Minnesota and Washington each for a season.
In 2010 he signed with the Miami Heat and he was part of the Heat’s run to several championship games. He provided his sharp-shooting prowess to two championship winning teams in 2012 and 2013. He finised his career signing with the Grizzlies, Cavaliers and Nuggets before retiring.
In more recent years he’s been coaching. He worked for Penny Hardaway at Memphis and spent two years there. He decided to spend more time with his family and more recently is goach at Houston High School where his boys played.
The Score on Mike Miller – 5.5
This is a bit of a mess from Mike. I’m not referring to his signature so much as the cards are hard to sign and the marker was not great. That could be partially because of the finish on the cards though too. I think the Fleer showcase is the best because he’s in the Magic uniform he won his RoY award in. But it’s funny to see those old Memphis jerseys with the Vancouver colors.
Thanks Mr. Miller! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
