The Story of the Autograph
Mike Hartenstine is a former defensive end in the NFL. He played from 1975 to 1987 and spent almost his entire career with the Chicago Bears, ending it with the Minnesota Vikings.
Hartenstine was born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He played his college ball for the Penn State Nittany Lions and was an All-American. The Bears drafted him with the 31st overall pick in the second round of the 1975 NFL Draft.
He had several years of five-plus sack totals but his best year was 1983. That year he had a career high 12 sacks. He would total 55 sacks for his career. He was with the Bears in 1985 as part of that great defense that help win the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots after the 1985 season. He played his final season in 1987 with the Vikings
The Score on Mike Hartenstine – 6.5
Mike seems like some others, notably Tony La Russa, who try to find a good place to sign on the card regardless of the orientation or anything like that. There’s certainly a good place for it but he does have quite a long name to try to fit in there. He did a good job with it though and it stands out really well.
Thanks Mr. Hartenstine! I’m giving this return a 6.5 overall.
