The Story of the Autograph

Mike Gminski is a former center in the NBA. He played for four teams during his fourteen year career: New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, and Milwaukee Bucks.

Gminski was born and raised in Connecticut. He went on to attend Duke University where he played from 1977 to 1980. He was the ACC Rookie of the Year as a freshman and led the team in scoring during his junior and senior years. He was also ACC Player of the Year in 1979. By the time he graduated he had sent the career mark for points, rebounds and blocked shots. While he’s been passed since, he is still seen as a Duke great and appears on their leaderboards.

The Nets drafted him in the first round of the 1980 NBA Draft with the seventh overall pick. He had a tough start to his career after an infection and blood clot during his first summer league games. While he played in a lot of games he didn’t really become a regular and starter until the 1984-’85 season when he started 54 games and reach almost 30 minutes per game. After than he would pretty much after over 26 minutes until the 1990-’91 season.

From 1985 to 1989 he pretty much was a 16 points, 9 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block kind of guy.

Mike puts a lot on these cards but it’s hard to notice that with them being so dark. I’ve got to try to find some better cards for him to sign. Unfortunately I think I just have a lot of doubles of these cards right here. That seems to be a thing with me and basketball cards.

Thanks Mr. Gminski! I’m giving this return a 5.
