The Story of the Autograph
Mark Wagner is a former shortstop in the major leagues. He played from 1976 through 1984 with the Tigers, Rangers, and Athletics.
Wagner was born and raised in Ohio. The Tigers drafted him in 1972 out of high school. After a few years in the minors he made his major league debut toward the end of the 1974 season on August 20th.
He never appeared in more than half the games in any season except for in his last year with the Athletics when he played 82 (just one game over half the season). His career numbers are: .243 batting average, three homers, 71 RBI, eight stolen bases in 414 games with 942 plate appearances.
The Score on Mark Wagner – 6.0
The first time I sent to Mark was a failure. The thing is, I sent to the same address this time and it was OK. He used a thin marker which was find on some of these cards but not the ’79 Topps which is a bit darker. The best card of the lot is the ’81 Donruss for me by far. One thing I always see in his cards is how young he looks, even when he has the mustache.
Thanks Mr. Wagner! I’m giving this return a 6.
