The Story of the Autograph
Mark Parent is a former catcher in the majors. His thirteen year career spanned from 1986 to 1998 and during that time he played for the San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles (twice), Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, and Philadelphia Phillies.
Parent was born in Oregon and grew up in California. He was drafted out of high school by the Padres in the fourth round of the 1979 MLB Draft. He would eventually make his debut after a while in the minors on September 20, 1986. The Padres would be the team he spent the most time in his career with and it was the place that he go the most opportunity. He got more and more games under his belt but never appeared more than 65 games in a season.
After his time in San Diego he bounced around a whole lot. He was traded, released, signed as a free agent, selected off waivers, pretty much almost any transaction you can think of. After his time in the majors he moved on to coaching and managing in the minors with a few different organizations. He coached in the majors as a bench coach w with the White Sox in 2011.
The Score on Mark Parent – 6.0
Mark has a pretty simple signature, but if that his “P” it looks a little odd. Oh wait, stop giggling everybody. I didn’t mean his pee or anything like that, I meant the capital letter “P” in his first name. Geez! His signature is a lot of those capital letters and then a lot of his last name.
Thanks Mr. Parent! I’m giving this return a 6.
