The Story of the Autograph
Mark Knudson is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He worked as both a starter and reliever between 1985 and 1993. During that time he played for the Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies.
Knudson was born and raised in Colorado. He attended Colorado State University where he was drafted by the Astros in the third round of the 1982 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut with them on July 8, 1985. The next season the Astros traded him along with Don August to the Brewers and got Danny Darwin in return.
He would end up spending the majority of his career in Milwaukee, from 1986 to 1991. His best seasons were in 1989 and 1990. The first of those was mostly as a reliever. In 40 game he started seven times and went 8-5 with a 3.35 ERA. In 1990 he worked mostly as a starter with 27 games started in 30 appearances. That season he put up a 10-9 record with a 4.12 ERA.
He moved on from Milwaukee as a free agent and went to the San Diego Padres. He never appeared in the majors for them however and moved on to the Rockies, also as a free agent where he ended his career after struggling in just four appearances. He actually ended up being the first Denver native to play for the Rockies.
The Score on Mark Knudson – 7.0
I have to admit, I can’t quite tell what’s going on with Mark’s signature. There’s certainly a lot there and he puts a bunch of ink on your card. But I would never be able to pick his out in a crowd. I’m not sure what the “T.S. 41” is either. Any ideas? 41 is pretty obviously his number, but I’m not sure what the rest means, or what it means all together.
Thanks Mr. Knudson! I’m giving this return a 7.
