The Story of the Autograph
Mark Acres is a former forward in the National Basketball Association. He played from 1987 through 1993 with the Celtics, Magic, Rockets, and Bullets. He also played in Europe before and after his time in the NBA.
Acres was born and raised in California. After high school he attended Oral Roberts University where he played for this father. The Mavericks drafted him in the second round of the 1985 NBA Draft but he never made it onto the team. Instead his pro career started in Italy and Belgium before he was picked up by the Celtics in 1987.
In 1989 he became part of the Orlando Magic’s first year expansion team when the chose him in the expansion draft. He started 50 games for those first Magic teams and average around 4 points in around 20 minutes per game. After Orlando he moved on to Houston, Chicago and Washington as a free agent but only saw time with Houston and Washington. Then he closed out his career playing in Europe again.
The Score on Mark Acres – 6.5
This is a pretty thick marker that Mark signed with and it looks like it’s probably not necessarily a Sharpie. The signature would probably come out even better if the basketball cards didn’t have a tendency to be so dark and busy. The Upper Deck card looks the best, but I don’t think I sent both of the other cards. I think I got different ones back.
Thanks Mr. Acres! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
