The Story of the Autograph
Kyle Clifton was a linebacker in the NFL for 13 seasons. His entire career was spent in New York playing for the Jets. He grew up in Texas and went to TCU. In 1984 he was drafted by the Jets in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft with the 64th overall pick.
Kyle was a standard in the Jets linebacking corps for his whole career. He ended his career with almost 1500 tackles. Nine of the season he played he had over 100 tackles and five of those seasons he had more than 150 tackles. In 1990 he had 199 tackles and led the NFL. He was never a “sack man” but did have 5.5 for his career with a high of 2 in the 1989 season.
The Score on Kyle Clifton – 5.5
Kyle has a pretty solid signature. This is another one that is a little small and could take up a bit more space on the card for my liking. But I always like when you can tell who is signing the card. These are a bit dark and busy in spots and I think if I gave him some better cards to sign it would have been a higher score. That ’98 Topps is VERY dark. I do think about that before I send cards, but I also don’t have that many card choices to send to Kyle. The 1991 Pro Set Platinum might be my favorite of the bunch though.
