The Story of the Autograph
Jim Sweeney is a former offensive lineman in the National Football League. He played from 1984 through 1999 with the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sweeney is a native son of Pennsylvania. He was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and went to college at Pitt. He played all of the offensive lineman positions during his time with the Panthers and started for two year. The Jets drafted him with the 37th overall pick in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft.
He spent the next eleven seasons with the Jets, starting all sixteen games at left guard by his second season. He was moved to left tackle in 1986 and then closed out his Jets career as the starting center from 1988 through 1994. He moved on to Seattle for one season and then ended his career with his hometown Steelers, mostly as a back up for his last four years.
After his playing days he went into coaching. He coached offensive lines for Duquesne and Albany at the college level as well as at two high schools. He still works as the offensive line coach at Albany.

Jim has a great signature and it’s so huge. I love how much of the card he uses. I just which I had cards or something better to show off how big it is. There’s so much action in his capital letters and they seem to go so well together. Loving this return and I hope I find other nice cards of his.
