The Story of the Autograph
Jim Kern is a former relief pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1974 to 1986 with the Cleveland Indians (twice), Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers. He was a three-time All-Star and was known as the “Amazing Emu.”
This is my second successful return from him. To find out more about him, and to see my first success, check out my post from February 2019.
The Score on Jim Kern – 5.5
My first success was in ball point pen so these are definitely upgrades. However, with a thin pen, Jim’s autograph is still a bit light on these. I think it obviously came out the best on the 1981 Fleer card just because he didn’t have a dark jersey on. I think his signature would look great with a thicker marker but I haven’t seen him do that much.
Thanks Mr. Kern! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
