The Story of the Autograph
Jim Dombrowski is a former offensive lineman in the NFL. He played from 1986 to 1996 and spent his entire career with the New Orleans Saints.
Dombrowski was born and raised in Williamsville, New York near Buffalo. He earned a scholarship to the University of Virginia and played there from 1982 to 1985. During his time there he was named the ACC’s best lineman, was a two-time All-ACC player, and a unanimous first-team All American as a senior. After graduating he earned the NCAA’s Today’s Top Six award for his combined athletics, academic, and leadership characteristics.
The Saints chose him with the sixth overall selection of the first round of the 1986 NFL Draft. In his first season he only played in three games, but after that he was a staple among the starting offensive lineman. He stated as a left tackle into the 1989 season and then was moved to guard until he retired.
He earned his master’s in education in 1991 and is a financial planner. In 2008 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame
The Score on Jim Dombrowski – 5.5
Jim has a stacked signature, but I almost missed it. His first name kind of gets a little hidden. But I think that’s just part of the issue with these cards. They are so busy in the back that it sort of hides his autograph. I think the black on these cards looks great even through it probably doesn’t help it sticking out.
Thanks Mr. Dombrowski! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
