The Story of the Autograph
Jeff Jackson is a former outfielder. He never appeared in the major leagues and spent 1989 to 1998 in the minor leagues.
Jackson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He was the Gatorade High School Baseball Player of the Year in 1989. That prompted the Phillies drafted him in the first round of the 1989 MLB Draft with the fourth overall pick.
He played with the Phillies in the minors from 1989 to 1994 and bounced around in their farm system. He was out of baseball in 1995 and 1996 and then came back into Independent baseball in Chicago and then into the Cubs organization. Finally he spent 1998 with in the Pirates system and Independent minor leagues, but that would be his final season.
The Score on Jeff Jackson – 6.5
It looks like Jeff uses just one “J” in his signature for both of his names and then stacks his signature. There could be a second “J” in there but I think he might be missing an opportunity to have a nice repetitive letter in his name. He’s the first guy I think I have that never actually played in the majors. But I don’t think I’ve found a minor league card for him.
Thanks Mr. Jackson! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
