The Story of the Autograph

Jeff Brown is a former defenseman in the NHL. He played from 1985 to 1998 with the Quebec Nordiques, St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes, Toronoto Maple Leafs, and Washington Capitals.

Brown is a native of Ottawa, Canada. He played junior hockey with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL starting in 1982. He lead the team in defense scoring in his first season and was fifth on the team overall. He continued to develop offensively during his junior hockey days and capped off his time by winning the league’s Max Kaminsky Trophy for being the top defenseman.

The Nordiques drafted him in the second round of the 1984 NHL Draft. He didn’t play that much his first season, appearing in only 8 games. He was a full-time player by his third season in the league and he was already showing how much of an offensive presence he was by his third season in the league. The Nordiques moved him to the Blues towards the beginning of the 1989-’90 season for Tony Hrkac and Greg Millen.

He had his best offensive seasons with St. Louis, really only being behind Brett Hull and Adam Oates on the team. In three full seasons with the Blues he had 59 points or more each season including a career high 78 in 1992-’93 season. That season he had career highs in goals (25) and assists (53). That would end up being the one-and-only All-Star season for him.

Brown would move to Vancouver and then Hartford over the next several seasons in deals that involved Craig Janney among others. While with the Whalers they became the Hurricanes in moving to North Carolina. And from there he finished out his career in just a few games with the Leafs and Caps. After his playing days he went into coaching in the minor hockey leagues like the UHL, NAHL, and the OHL.

The Score on Jeff Brown – 7.0

Jeff does a really great job on your cards. His signature is huge and he even stacks it to make it bigger with both his first and last name being big. I think the best card here is the 1990 Score card. There’s so much white on that card that it really let’s you see what’s going on. Also the blue marker and the Blues uniforms look great.

Thanks Mr. Brown! I’m giving this return a 7.
