The Story of the Autograph
Greg Kragen is a former nose tackle in the NFL. He played from 1985 to 1997 with the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Carolina Panthers.
Kragen was born in Chicago but grew up in California. He went on to play for the Aggies of Utah State and then went undrafted in the 1984 NFL Draft. He tried out for the Broncos but was cut. Fortunately he was invited back to training camp the following year and made the team.
He would go on to play the next nine seasons for the Broncos. He was part of their unsuccessful runs to several Super Bowls agains the Giants, Redskins, and 49ers in the mid-80’s to early-90’s. In 1987 he was pretty much a full time starter.
He had a career high 5.5 sacks in 1992 and a career high four fumble recoveries in 1989 with one of those returned for a touchdown. He made the Pro Bowl in that 1989 season. He finished his career out with the Panthers in their initial expansion seasons.
The Score on Greg Kragen – 7.0
This is a really nice return from Greg. That Topps card is especially nice. The white jersey gave him a greag place to sign and show off his signature. The repetitive “g” gives him something interesting to throw in there which is really nice to see.
Thanks Mr. Kragen! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
