The Story of the Autograph
Glenn Brummer is a former catcher who spent almost his entire major league career with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played from 1981 through 1985 and won a World Series. He finished out his career with a year in Texas with the Rangers.
Brummer was signed by the Cardinals in 1974 as an amateur free agent. After a long time in the minors he made his debut on May 25, 1981. He was a backup and never played more than 49 games in any year. His best year was probably 1983 with the Cardinals. He hit .276 with 9 RBI in 45 games with less than 100 plate appearances.
While he only had four stolen bases in his career, one of those was pretty key in August of 1982 when the Cardinals won the World Series. Brummer stole home with two outs in the bottom of the 12th to give the Cards a win over the Giants.
The Score on Glenn Brummer – 6.0
Glenn has a solid autograph. He fills up a good amount of the card and e signed with a good marker. I usually like capital “Gs” but I feel like this one isn’t a very fancy one like some other guys.
Thanks Mr. Brummer! I’m giving these a 6.
