The Story of the Autograph

Glenn Adams is a former designated hitter and outfielder in the major leagues. His eight-year career spanned from 1975 to 1982. During that time he played with the San Francisco Giants, Minnesota Twins, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Adams is a native of Massachusetts. He went to college at Springfield College and then played in the Cape Code League before the Houston Astros chose him with the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 1968 MLB Draft. He played in the Houston organization for four years before being released in 1972. After missing the 1972 season he signed with the Giants and made his major league debut a couple years later on May 4, 1975.

After two years in San Francisco he moved on to the Twins where he would spend most of his career. His best years were 1977 and ’80 when he played in at least 95 games each of those seasons. His career high batting average was .338 in 1977. In 1979 he had a career high eight home runs and 50 RBI.

He became a free agent in 1981, played 1982 with Toronto and then became a free agent at the end of the season and never played in the majors again after the 1982 season.

The Score on Glenn Adams – 7.0

Glenn did one of my favorite things that a signer can do – signed in different colors. To me that means he cares enough to try to get the colors of the markers to go well with the teams uniforms. I don’t know if it exactly does on the Twins cards, but the effort is the most important thing. It might more on the 1981 Fleer card than the 1982 Topps card.

Thanks Mr. Adams! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
