The Story of the Autograph
Glen Wesley is s former defensement in the NHL. He played from 1987 to 2008 with the Boston Bruins, Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes (twice), and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Wesley is a native of Alberta, Canada. He was drafted third overall by the Bruins in the 1987 NHL Draft and made his debut with Boston in the season following the draft. He had a great rookie year and made the the 1988 All-Rookie team. He also saw his first taste of the Stanley Cup playoffs as the Bruins made it to the Finals that year. He would make it back in 1990 but both time the Bruins would lose to the Edmonton Oilers.
Prior to the 1994-’95 season he was traded to the Hartford Whalers for three first round picks in the following years. He would continue playing well while with Hartford and was with them in their move to North Carolina starting in the 1997-’98 season. He was definitely a leader there and reached the Stanley Cup Finals two more times. He won in his fourth trip, again against the Oilers in 2006. He was traded to the Maple Leafs in 2003, but was right back in Carolina the next season.
His best season in the league might have been his last in Boston, 1993-’94. That year he had a career high in points with 58 (14 goals and 44 assists – also a career high). He score a career high 19 goals in his second season in the league with 19.
The Score on Glen Wesley – 7.0
Glen has a bit of a messy signature. I don’t know if I picked this up when I first looks at it but I am wondering if he includes his number in there at the bottom. I think I can see a “2” but I don’t think I see a “6”. The 1990 Score card really helped him show off the signature. But the 1990 Upper Deck and 1991 Pro Set cards aren’t all that bad for it either.
