The Story of the Autograph
Gary Neibauer is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1969 to 1973 with the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies.
Neibauer was born and raised in Billings, Montana. He attended the University of Nebraska and played four sports there. He was drafted twice in 1966 in the two different phases of the draft. The first was by the Indians in the eighth round but he didn’t sign with them. He did sign with the Braves after they drafted him in the second round later that year. He made his debut for them just a few years later on April 12, 1969.
He appeared in 29 games that first season and went 1-2 with a 3.90 ERA. He was part of the team that made the postseason that year that would lose to the eventual champion Mets. He bounced up and down the next few years and never appeared more than 17 times during the season with the Braves. In 1972 they traded him to the Phillies where he would make his last nine appearances before his last major league appearance on September 30, 1973.
After his playing career was over he worked as a mortgage broker, a scout, and for the MLB Players Alumni Association to help get more players pensions.
The Score on Gary Neibauer – 5.5
Ball point pens are always tough to judge and that’s what Gary used. They aren’t my favorite so really however they turn out they just aren’t going to get a great score to start. Gary has a pretty good signature and it’s got some fun to it. You just have a hard time picking it up with the ball point pen.
Thanks Mr. Neibauer! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
