The Story of the Autograph
Eugene Marve was a former linebacker in the NFL. He played from 1982 to 1992 with the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Diego Chargers.
Marve was a native of Flint, Michigan. He went on to attend college and play football at Saginaw Valley State. Despite going to a small school he was drafted in the third round of the 1982 NFL Draft with the 59th pick. He played 156 games with a 126 games started. In those games he had eight sacks, eight fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
His son was Mr. Football in Florida in 2007 and was the starting QB at Miami before transferring to Purdue.
Unfortunately Marve passed away this past May at the age of 60.
The Score on Eugene Marve – 3.0
I hate to rate Eugene’s return so low given that he passed away just a short time ago. I got this one back last November and at the time he used a ball point pen. That’s pretty much an automatic low score for me. This one the pen kind of cut into the card. I really don’t think the ball points do well on this era of Score card.
Thanks Mr. Marve! I’m giving this return a 3.
