The Story of the Autograph
Eddie Brown played wide receiver in the NFL from 1985 to 1991. All of his time in the NFL was spent in Cincinnati with the Bengals.
Brown was born and raised in Miami, FL. He stayed in Miami for college and played with some really great Hurricane teams. He was part of the ’83 team that upset Nebraska for Miami’s first National Championship. In his senior season he was the first Hurricane receiver to top 1,000 yards with 200+ of that total coming in the Doug Flutie hail mary game.
Cincinnati made Brown the second receiver picked in the draft with the 13th overall pick in the first round. He was chosen after Al Toon and three picks before Jerry Rice. With 53 catches for 942 yards and eight touchdowns in his first year he was chosen as the 1985 NFL Rookie of the year. In 1988 he was part of a strong Bengals offense that helped the team to a Super Bowl. He had 1,200-plus yards and nine touchdowns that year. Plus he set a NFL record with a 24 yard per catch average. All that was good enough to get him to his first and only Pro Bowl appearance.

I don’t think Eddie has the fanciest signature and there’s nothing quirky about it, but damn does he fill up that card. I love how big he makes his signature. These cards really took the signature well too. Initially I only found one card of Eddie’s to sign so I’m really excited that I found a couple more. I would bet that his signature would look really good on a football.
