The Story of the Autograph
David Maley is a former left wing in the NHL. He played from 1985 to 1994 with the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils (twice), Edmonton Oilers, and San Jose Sharks.
Maley is a Wisconsin native. He played in college at the University of Wisconsin where he won a championship in 1983. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the 1982 NHL Draft with the 33rd overall pick. He stayed in school and debuted for the Canadiens in the 1985-’86 season. He only played in three games that first season, but they did win a Stanley Cup that year.
The following season he was playing more than have the season but did split time with minor league teams in the next two years. The Canadiens traded him to the Devis for a third round pick that would become Mathieu Schneider. He was with the Devils more than any other team in his career but was traded in 1992 to the Oilers for Troy Mallete. He continued to move around for the rest of his career.
He would end up playing 280 games with 32 goals and 50 assists for 82 points.
The Score on David Maley – 6.5
There’s a good signature under there from David, it’s just buried a bit with those busy hockey images. I think I like the 1990 Pro Set card the best because you can see the signature a whole lot better than on the 1990 Score card. I do like the size he signs at because it fills up the card pretty well. I’ll have to find some better cards to show off his signature for another attempt.
Thanks Mr. Maley! I’m giving this return a 6.5 overall.
