The Story of the Autograph
Chuck Ramsey played football for the New York Jets from 1977 through 1984. He was a punter from South Carolina who went to Wake Forest. Originally drafted in 1974 by the New England Patriots in the sixth round, he never actually played for the Patriots. He went to the World Football League and played for the Chicago Fire.
The Jets signed him in 1977 and he stuck with them through the 1984 season. He had highs of 81 punts in both 1981 and 1983 and punted for 3200+ yards in both of those season. The longest punt of his career went for 79 yards in the 1978 season.
The Score on Chuck Ramsey – 6.5
The best part about Chuck’s signature is that it’s HUGE. He really fills up the card well. The only issue I have with this card is that the uniform is so dark and it takes away from the autograph. But overall this is a good one.
Thanks Mr. Ramsey! I’m giving this card a 6.5.
