That year, he appeared in 27 games (26 as a starter), achieving a 12–7 win-loss record and completing four games .
In December 1977, Knapp was traded to the California Angels alongside Brian Downing and Dave Frost in exchange for Bobby Bonds, Richard Dotson, and Thad Bosley. The 1978 season marked the pinnacle of Knapp’s career; he started 29 games, recorded a 14–8 win-loss record, and pitched six complete games .
Following his standout 1978 season, Knapp faced difficulties maintaining his performance levels. In 1979, he posted a 5-5 record with a 5.51 ERA, and in 1980, his ERA rose to 6.14. These challenges led to his reassignment to the minor leagues, and he concluded his professional playing career after the 1980 season .

A nice return from Chris, but these cards are not great for Chris to show his autograph off. The 1977 Topps cards is a bit better because at least there isn’t a dark blue uniform on him. I’m definitely going to try Chris again because I’ve found some more cards from him.
