The Story of the Autograph
Brian Meadows is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1998 to 2006 with the Florida Marlins, San Deigo Padres, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Meadows was born and raised in Alabama. He was drafted out of high school by the Marlins in the third round of the 1994 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut four years later on April 4, 1998. He won 11 games in each of his first two seasons with the Marlins, but unfortunately had a few more losses than that. That’s what a 5.41 ERA in those seasons can do.
He had an eventful 2000 with a few moves. The Marlins traded him at the end of 1999 to the Padres and then midway through the year the Padres traded him to the Royals. He didn’t appear in the majors in 2001 and continued to move around until he settled in with the Pirates for several years. That’s where he had some of his best years, working in relieve mostly from 2003 to 2005.
He finished his career with the Rays in 2006 and played his last game in the majors on September 30, 2006. He tried to make it with the Reds the next season but did not make the big club out of Spring Training.
The Score on Brian Meadows – 7.0
This one came out really strong from Brian. He used a great marker and the Black looks really good on the card with the old Marlins colors. I’m not a huge fan of this era of Stadium Club cards, but I was glad to find a card of Brian’s a one of him as a Marlin to use.
Thanks Mr. Meadows! I’m giving this return a 7.
