The Story of the Autograph
Brendan Harris is a former infielder who played in the major leagues in 8 seasons from 2004 through 2013. He was a member of the Cubs, Expos/Nationals, Reds, Rays, Twins and Angels.
Harris was born and raised in Queensbury, New York. While in high school he helped the Queensbury High School Spartans to state championships in 1996 and 1998. He then went on to William & Mary where he was a third team All-American and CAC All-star in 2001. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the fifth round of the 2001 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut on July 6, 2004. He only had just a few at-bats for the Cubs before he was traded to the Expos in a four-team deal involving Nomar Garciaparra, Orlando Cabrera, Doug Mientkiewicz and others.
He played with the Expos through 2006 which means he went with them on their way to Washington, DC. Then he was traded to the Reds. The next year he moved on the the Rays and in the same calendar year, but after the season, traded to the Twins. He spent three seasons with the Twins which was his longest stop. After that he moved around quite a lot but only got major league time with the Angels.
Harris’ best seasons were when he actually got a chance to play in 2007 through 2009 with the Rays and then the Twins. The best of those was 2007 with the Rays where he his .286 with 12 homers and 59 RBI, all career highs. After baseball he worked for the Angels in player development and these days he works for a private equity firm.
The Score on Brendan Harris – 6.5
I like Brendan’s autograph. I know it’s a simple thing but I like how the “r” comes out of the “B” in his first name. I also like where he puts his number, on top of his signature instead of below. It just makes it a little more interesting. I think the Heritage card came out the best because you can see the autograph a bit more clearly.
Thanks Mr. Harris! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
