The Story of the Autograph

Bob Kudelski is a former right winger in the NHL. He played for the Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers during a nine year career that lasted from 1987 to 1996.

Kudelski is a native of Massachusetts but went to the Hill School in Pennsylvania for high school. He then went on to attend college at Yale. The Kings drafted him with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 1986 NHL Supplemental Draft. He made his debut on October 8, 1987.

By the 1989-’90 season he was a regular playing the majority of the season. He played well and put up his first of four straight twenty goal seasons, the last of those being split between the Kings and Senators when he was traded in December of that season. The Senators were a new expansion team at the time. He broke out the next season (1993-’94) and had a career year with 40 goals, 30 assists for 70 points on the year.

But that breakout year was split between the Senators and another expansion club, the Panthers. He was traded to Florida in mid-season. But that was his career-year high point and he never put up the same numbers and ended his career in 1995-’96 with a year split between the Panthers and AHL club the Carolina Monarchs.

Bob has a scribble of a signature, but I think there’s some other things that aren’t going well for these. First the black Kings uniforms just don’t help anything. But even on the best card to show of a nice signature, the 1990 Score card, you can see that the marker is just running out of juice.

Thanks Mr. Kudelski! I’m giving this return a 5 overall.
