The Story of the Autograph
Billy Ashley is a former right-hand hitting and throwing outfielder in the major leagues. He played from 1992 to 1998 primarily with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but spent the last season of his career with the Boston Red Sox.
Ashley was born and raised in Michigan. He was drafted out of Belleville High School in Belleville, Michigan in the third round of the 1988 MLB Draft by the Dodgers. After several years in the minors he debuted on September 1, 1992. He still bounced between the majors and the minors over the next two years but showed promise while in the minors as a minor league All-Star in both 1993 and 1994 and winning the Pacific Coast League MVP and Dodgers Minor League Player of the Year.
He got a better shot in 1995 and played in half the games for the Dodgers that season. 81 would be a career high in games in his career though. He would end up with a .233 average, 28 homers, and 84 RBI for his career. He went back to the minors in 1999 and then retired from baseball.

Billy has a signature with a lot of action and I really love that. Sure, it looks a bit like scribbles, but you can see it all in there. While I think some of the letters, especially in his first name lend to that scribble effect, he certainly seems to play it up. I think my favorite of the bunch is the 1993 Leaf came out. That is the best combo of nice card, nice signature, and a great place to see it displayed.
