The Story of the Autograph
Adonal Foyle is a former center in the NBA. His career spanned from 1997 to 2009 and during that time he played with the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies.
Foyle is a native of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He was adopted by two professors at Colgate University when he was 15 and came to the United States. In high school he helped his team with two state championships and then he went on to attend Colgate. Even though he only played three seasons, he still left school as the NCAAs all-time leader in blocked shots.
The Golden State Warriors drafted him with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 1997 NBA Draft. Ultimately he never played more that 20 or so minutes per game in any season and he was never really a scorer. But despite his playing time, he would be among the top ten in blocks for a season three times in his career.
Foyles impact is more felt off the court. He is an activist, humanitarian and poet that is involved in a lot of great causes. Among them Democracy Matters and Common Cause.
The Score on Adonal Foyle – 6.5
Unfortunately this is another good example of a basketball card being too busy for a really good signature. But Adonal did a good job on these despite not having much of a canvas to sign. I love how sharp and striking that marker came out.
Thanks Mr. Foyle! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
