October 2018 TTM Report

October was a successful month but definitely not like some prior months. I think part of that was just happening to send a little less as the baseball season wound down. At this point I’m pretty much sending out former players and a few Sports Illustrated mags out to some players of various sports.

Last month I had 26 successes with a total of 74 cards. Among those the highlights were Joe Montana in 257 days, Ron Cey in 8 days, and Tony La Russa in 16 days. I haven’t posted all of those yet because I have such a backlog and I try to just go for one a day. Among the successes were six current players and six coaches, front office guys or broadcasters that I sent to team addresses. Those should definitely slow down for next month, but I do expect to see some old Spring Training cards I sent come back.

As far as failures there were a few. Tomas Nido came back but it was back in the return envelope without a signature. I hate it when that happens instead of a refusal because then I can’t reuse the smaller envelope. Nick Foles doesn’t appear to be signing anymore. I guess when you win the Super Bowl you get asked for a lot more autographs. Gregg Olson failed twice. I got the first one back with a forwarding address on it and then whoever got it at the forwarded address when I sent it the second time sent it back in the small envelope saying it was the wrong address. Lastly I got Bill Gullickson back and I’m sure I used a bad address on that one.

Hoping for some more good returns in November!
