I’m a schadenfreude practitioner and/or second guesser with the best of them, but sometimes I think people need to really take a look a things before they make a judgement. And I realize this is Twitter where people just say stuff and really who cares. I just find it annoying when it’s uneducated, uninformed, or really like picking out something that isn’t valid.
I can think of two recent cases:
- A random Mets fan that I saw was posting something about Carlos Mendoza starting a Starling Marte instead of Brandon Nimmo after his big 9 RBI game. You should probably check to see if there is something going on with the person they are taking out before you do that… like maybe a stomach virus. Well, good for Starling who hit a homer that day.
- Juan Soto grounded out to end the game yesterday in 1/162 to make it a 1-run loss against the Cubs. That was apparently an indictment on the whole Soto contract. So we are saying that one at bat in a game where .300 is successful, among hundreds of at bats, all that… that defines it.
Like I said, I like to root against things with the best of them. I will also admit that the Soto contract is a big thing to root against… but, that just seems off. Especially after he homered against your team in a more lopsided win the day before. Anyway…

Other Notes
Another good week with 17 total returns and one of those was a failure. The failure was from Marty Cordova. That was really a flyer I took on an older address after I thought I saw someone else get something back from him. I did have a straggler and I haven’t seen one of those for a while. That was from Ryan Church and it was out for 392 days. Other than that I got back a return from Jimmy Waite from the Blackhawks as far as interesting addresses I sent to.
