There wasn’t really too much going on this week for me. I did get a few boxes of some junk wax era cards. A little O-Pee-Chee baseball, Upper Deck hockey, and GameDay football… all from the early 90’s. I’m mostly looking for TTM fodder in those.
I really enjoyed opening the 1992 GameDay football. It’s such a different card, especially for football, that it really makes it fun to open. Now of course it’s a pain in the butt to store, but I’ll figure out that part later.
And I sorted everything as I opened it so that’s a win right there.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and has a great week!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Joe Vitiello
- Tuesday: Roger Salkeld, Floyd Bannister
- Wednesday: Danny Darwin
- Thursday: Mike Loynd
- Friday: Joe Lefebvre
- Saturday: Steve Walsh
- Sunday: Louis Oliver
I don’t know how I missed it but there was a Seattle Mariners theme to the #twofortuesday this week and I forgot to call that out last week. I think that’s probably because I am actually working ahead lately and I found them in the backlog the week prior at least and then forgot.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Nobody beats the Maz…
- Tuesday: The worst diagnosis…
- Tuesday: Pull the Tabb…
- Wednesday: The S-Mervs…
- Thursday: My dog likes a good Petagine…
- Friday: Don’t make a Gaff…
- Saturday: To everything Turner, Turner, Turner…
- Sunday: Ctrl+Alt+Delete…
I do have a #twofortuesday this week and I won’t say it’s special, but it’s definitely topical. This week will be an Oakland A’s theme and with them heading out of town.
Other Notes
This was another light week. Another week with 14 returns, but this time one of them was a failure. I got the failure back from Bobby Valentine and maybe I used an old address for him because I saw others getting successful returns back recently.
As for the other things I track, I had two stragglers from Bob Kearney at 203 days and Jim Willoughby at 286 days. I got a paid return back from Bret Saberhagen which turned out nice. Lastly, one of my returns was from Arthur Rhodes who looks like he is stamping cards. I am on the fence of that being a success or failure. I mean, it’s returned, but not really a success.
The Recent TTM Success page will be updated next weekend.
Have a great week!
