The Story of the Autograph
Fennis Dembo is a former small forward in the NBA. He played in just one season with the Detroit Pistons in 1988-’89. He also played in the CBA and overseas in France.
Dembo was born in Mobile, Alabama but grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He went to college at Wyoming. There he helped the team get to the 1986 NIT championship game. The following year he would help them get to the Sweet Sixteen while he average a tournament high 27.8 points per game. The Pistons then selected him with the 30th overall pick in the second round of the 1988 NBA Draft.
He was lucky enough to start out on a great team. The Piston won the NBA Championship that season while he played in 31 games. After that though he never played in the NBA again and bounced between the CBA and playing in France. After basketball he worked as a prison guard and in maintenance.
His name actually comes from the French word for “finish”, finis. He and his twin sister Fenise were the last kids their Mom would have.
The Score on Fennis Dembo – 3.0
This wasn’t a good one for a few reasons. The marker that he used wasn’t really good. I’ll have to try him again to see if I can improve on that. But the other thing that’s harder to see is that this came back on a really rainy day and the card is a bit warped. I always hate rainy mail days.
Thanks Mr. Dembo! I’m giving this return a 3.
