The Story of the Autograph
Paul Pressey is a former small forward in the NBA. He played from 1982 to 1993 with the Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs, and Golden State Warriors.
Pressey is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He first went to college at Western Texas, a junior college, where he helped them go 37-0 in 1979 and win the Junior College Championship. Then he moved on to Tulsa where he won the MVC Player of the Year in 1982 while playin for the Golden Hurricanes. The Bucks then drafted him with the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 1982 NBA Draft.
He’s credited with being one of the first “point forwards” in the league, taking on the much of the ball handling duties. He even led the team in assists for five straight years while with the Bucks. He was also a very good defender and was named to the All-NBA Defensive Team three times. While with the Bucks they reach the Easter Conference Finals three times, but they never reached the NBA Finals.
Before he even finished his days as a player he started coaching. He was an assistant with the Warriors before he retired as a player. He then coach in San Antonio (where he was part of the staff for a championship), Orlando, Boston, New Orleans, Cleveland and Los Angeles. In more recent years he’s been part of the staff at St. John’s University.
The Score on Paul Pressey – 6.5
Paul seems to be good to lay ink down on three cards. I’m glad that I got him on a Bucks card because that’s where he really played his best ball, but I was lucky because I don’t have too many cards from his time there. He has a nice signature but these cards are so busy. I love that he uses one “P” for his whole signature.
Thanks Mr. Pressey! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
