The Story of the Autograph
Stoney Case is a former backup quarterback in the NFL. He played from 1995 to 2000 witht he Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, and Detroit Lions.
Case was born and raised in Odessa, Texas. In high school he played baseball as well as football. In football he led the Odessa Permian Panthers to an undefeated season and a state title one year after the events in the Friday Night Lights book and movie. He went to college at the University of New Mexico and started all four years. He was the first quarterback to have 9,000 passing and 1,000 rushing yards for a career and he was second only to Ty Detmer in touchdowns with 98.
The Arizona Cardinals chose him with their third round pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. He spent a good amount of time with the Barcelona Dragos in NFL Europe during the years he also played in the NFL. He was a back up to the likes of Kent Graham (Arizona) and Charlie Batch (Detroit).
After his time in the NFL he moved on to the Arena Football League and played for two teams through 2008: the Tampa Bay Storm (two stints) and the San Jose SaberCats. He was mostly a backup in the AFL as well.

Stoney has a pretty standard signature. You can see it best on the Fleer Ultra Gold Medallion card. I really don’t have a “normal” card for him in my collection so I was working with what I had. That Signature Rookies cards just doesn’t allow you to see the signature very well at all.
