The Story of the Autograph
James Marvel is a free agent pitcher. He pitched in the majors with the Pirates in 2019.
Marvel is a native of the Bay Area in California. He was an All-State player in high school and was drafted by the Minnesota Twin in the 37th round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He didn’t sign and instead went on to attend Duke University. He picked up an elbow injury in his sophomore year and didn’t play at all. The Pirates then drafted him in the 36th round in the 2015 MLB Draft.
After several years in the minors with them he made his major league debut on September 8, 2019. He pitched in four games with four stats to close out the season, going 0-3 with an 8.31 ERA. He didn’t play at all in 2020 and spent 2021 in the Indians organization and was released on November 2021.

With this being a shared card there’s just not much of a place for James to sign. That said, I think he found enough room to get it done. It does seem like a lot to squeeze in there given how big of a marker he used though. I always love Heritage cards signed.
