I started realizing this week what a sort of herky-jerky time of year this is. I’m thinking of that in a lot of different ways.
First if you look at the calendar, my work has a at least one holiday in a two-week time period 5 times from 11/1 through 2/28. I’m not really complaining about that, but it makes for some irregular weeks when we have holidays on like Thursday twice in a month. Then for Christmas and New Year’s this time around we have two Fridays off in a row, other wise it would actually be six weeks.
Then if you have kids like I do there’s usually a lot of performances and recitals to make schedules around. Plus my wife is taking a class so that’s finishing up and there’s work to be done at the end of a semester. And then add on top of that a lot of holiday sort of things that get scheduled for the family to do.
And then there’s that too… family. So many visits from family and then visiting family. And if travel time is involved that adds a lot more to it.
All that makes me think about how I’m going to make sure the blog stays on track through all that. I’m sure I’ll make it happen by the skin of my teeth.
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving holiday!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Art Howe
- Tuesday: Mike Mason, Dwayne Henry
- Wednesday: Dion James
- Thursday: Mo Sanford, Card Thoughts: 1990 Fleer Football – Premier Edition
- Friday: Gene Garber
- Saturday: Jim Clancy
- Sunday: Frank Tanana
It was a Rangers #twofortuesday last week. I also switched it up with some football Card Thoughts on Thanksgiving because I figured football paired well with that holiday.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Goober…
- Tuesday: Markly…
- Tuesday: K-nud…
- Wednesday: The Bonham Bullet…
- Thursday: AK-47…
- Friday: Fred Notice…
- Saturday: More Bannister…
- Sunday: Pete and now Re-Pete…
There seems to be a lot of Brewers cards that I’m posting these days and that means we are going to see another Brew Crew #twofortuesday. I’m not sure how that’s happening, but I think that’s two of those in the last three weeks. I don’t know if I have a Card Thoughts or some kind of article planned for this week yet, but I’m hoping to get there for Thursday.
Other Notes
I really thought that with the holiday in the middle of the week I’d have a slow week. Not a slow work in terms of rate, but the fact that we’d be missing a day of mail should mean that I have a little less mail. Well, 27 successful returns this week isn’t really that much less. So another great week in for November and with a good start to the first two days of the week, it will close out really strong. I also had five failures this week which seems very out of the blue for the last several months.
There were a few stragglers this week: Mary Jo Sobieck (354 days), James McCann (185), Tim Jones (164), and Andre Thornton (148). A few of those are not at my normal level of a true straggler, but I had to get enough for a list. There were a couple of the failures that were stragglers too with Jerry Rice (377) and Brent Maybe (147).
I’ve updated my new page – Recent TTM Success. I said I would update on Sundays, which I’m doing… but I didn’t do it last week. I just need some time to get into the swing of things. Anyway, it’s updated now.
Have a great week!
